vacuum bot and mop is a high-quality machine. The $1400 price tag may be hard to swallow but it's often offered for sale to make it more affordable. The unit looks fantastic and the base takes up very little room in the corner of your home.
This robot's design addresses a few problems that we've had with other robotic mop and vacuum models, for example, the brushes getting tangled in hair, and the brush being unable to reach floors that are not covered by furniture. The sweeping performance on floors and carpets is also impressive. The vacuum/mop system is equipped with an excellent level of debris pickup, and the mop is able to soak up floors that are not soiled.
The mops have a sophisticated system that cleans along the edges of walls and around furniture. The robot is able to effortlessly avoid obstacles like food bowls, toys, and backpacks. However, it could get stuck or entangled with smaller and less hefty objects such as shoelaces, USB cables and pens.
We used this robot to vacuum and mop a mixture of pile carpet tiles, FLOR rugs and hardwood floors within a large, open floor layout. It cleaned and mopped the area of 90m2 in 170 minutes with FREO Mind enabled. This is about the average for Gen 4 robots.
Several features distinguish this robot from others in its class. Freo X Ultra is equipped with numerous enhancements in software, sensors and hardware to keep it on top of its class. It claims 3.5 hours of autonomy for environments up 260m2.
Freo's app allows you to customize multiple functions, including how often the robot goes to its base station. remote control vacuum cleaner. The RX3's four-stage system is excellent for dust collection on hard and carpet floors. Side brushes can be swept out as well as dual suction channels and intuitive controls clean corners. The 8.5 cm height allows it to fit under low furniture, while front cameras and infrared sensors help it navigate obstacles and thresholds easily.
In our test of how well it cleaned baking soda near corners and baseboards the Scout RX3 was impressive. Its suction of 2,500 Pa was a bit weaker than other robots but it was able to move quickly and was extremely quiet. It didn't mop, however and its cleaning pads were fiddly to attach and could not deal with dirt that had dried on.
Its app lacks advanced features, such as multiple cleaning modes or automated scheduling. It does work with Alexa, but its voice controls aren't very clear or responsive. It's also a bit flaky when it returns to the charging station after the course. Other robots can follow an obstruction or follow the previous route however the RX3 stumbles around until it gives up.
Another issue we faced was with its smart features, particularly the mapping function and digital keep-out zones. While it did a great job of avoiding our furniture legs and shoes but it could easily be caught by socks and cables, and it was not able to manage the tassels of carpets. We decided not to include the Scout RX3 in our
best buy robot vacuum Buy list. The Scout RX3 offers a good price and impressive performance. It's worth considering as an alternative to traditional uprights.
