The
Best Double Buggy Strollers
A
double single pushchair buggy is the best when you are expecting twins, or if you have two children of different age groups. The best ones are easy to manoeuvre and deal with rough surfaces and kerbs.
These vehicles also come with features such as large sun canopies and see-through hoods, as well adjustable seats.
1. Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Double
The City Tour 2 Double stroller is the smallest model in the Baby Jogger range. It's designed to travel and easily fits through the majority of normal doors thanks to its slim design. It's also one of the most lightweight double buggies on the market, weighing just 14lbs when folded. This makes it perfect for traveling with a baby and toddler since you won't exceed the allowances for luggage on airlines. It can also be folded to the size of the size of a small travel bag so you can store it in the back of your car.
It's simple to fold the Z-shape by using one hand. Once you're used to it, it is small and takes only a few minutes. Our test subject found the auto-lock a bit confusing, and because the handlebar doesn't lock in its position when you push it and it landed on her leg when she used it. She also thought the handlebar was on the short side. This is particularly true when a large bag for changing is hanging from it.
The double stroller isn't as light as other travel buggies. It comes with a wide variety of features, and is among the most versatile double strollers available on the market. It's compatible with two carrycots (available separately), features multiple recline positions, and comes with a UV 50+ canopy. You can put an additional bassinet to one or both seats to make it an all-in-one travel system.
The four composite wheels made of rubber are ideal for pavements and urban terrain, but they're not built for off-roading. They slid on gravel and long grass and there's a lack of space between the wheel and bracket so mud was able to get stuck easily. That being said our tester was still enthralled riding this buggy, and it did climb some pretty dirt hills.
iCandy Orange
The iCandy Orange is a premium double buggy that is a top choice in design and versatility. It is a must-have for parents who want a chic, high-quality double buggy that lasts. The Orange has a beautiful sleek, lightweight chassis with a huge basket that can easily fit two car seats. It features an elegant, adjustable canopy that is water-resistant and ventilated. It is available in trendy colors such as Pistachio on the Jet Black Frame, Fossil on a Jet Black Frame, and Rose. There's also the possibility of a built-in ride on board for older sibling to join in the fun.
The 2021 update comes with some changes, with improved manoeuvrability, and an even larger, better shopping basket that has been redesigned with a bumper bar and leatherette cover. The seats are extremely comfortable and have a moulded look. The seats are also adjustable and can be set to meet the needs of siblings. iCandy have included the first ever 'cinema' seating concept that allows parents to maintain eye contact with their children. They can also be moved to face either parent or world facing.
It's a heavier tandem buggie but it's a breeze to drive and use particularly on smooth roads. It feels stable in both double and single mode and even on sloped ground. It's not as easy to drive on public transportation, however, since it requires more than one hand to grip the handlebar. It is also bulky and can't be stuffed into a standard car boot with the seat in place, but this can be overcome by careful planning. iCandy include a footmuff, changing bag and car seat adapters included in the price, so it's an excellent value for parents who are new.
3. Joie Evalite Duo
This is a lightweight tandem stroller. It has two non-reversible seats that are suitable for infants up to about 3 years of age. The rear seat can also accommodate car seats.
It comes with an easy and simple to fold mechanism that makes it convenient to travel with and store. It also comes with a large basket, ideal for storing all of your baby's or toddler's essentials.
The Joie Evalite Duo double buggy is a great choice for beginners, as it is both affordable and simple to operate. It is also incredibly lightweight, making it easier to push for long distances. It also has a high-quality suspension system, which ensures an enjoyable ride for parents and children.
This is a stylish and practical city buggy that is suitable for twins or a baby with a toddler, or even three children with the addition of UPPAbaby's "PiggyBack' board (sold separately). Its sleek frame and
compact twin stroller dimensions make it ideal for shopping malls and narrow streets in cities. Its swivel front wheels and four-wheel suspension enable it to handle rough or uneven terrain.
Another great feature is that this buggy can accommodate a car seat in the back seat, which makes it ideal for families that plan to travel. It has a secure one-click fold and is compatible with a variety of Joie infant car seats. It has a large basket, and comfortable seats for the kids. The only drawback is that the front seat doesn't recline completely, which could be a problem for babies. It's a great choice to consider if you're looking for a lightweight and low-cost stroller.
4. Cybex Gazelle S
If you're expecting twins, this is definitely the stroller you need. It's the Cybex first travel system, and it comes with built-in adaptors that make it simple to transform from one stroller to a double. The upper adaptors are able to slide upwards and downwards to accommodate your height while the lower ones can be turned around and flipped over, making it really easy to switch from one configuration to another. The Gazelle's seat also can recline into an upright position. It also has an extensive UV 50+ sun shade that is essential for children.
From birth, it is a single pushchair, and from 4 years old as a double with the addition of the CLOUD Z i-Size car seat or an additional seat unit or Gazelle Cot, this is the stroller that is future-proof that can be adapted to your family. The new one-pull harness makes securing your child an easy and simple process - ideal when you're carrying your baby on your back!
In contrast to most
double running buggy strollers, the Gazelle S folds up compactly with both seats firmly attached, so it's easy to fit into storage spaces at the home or in your trunk. A huge lower basket holds up to 25 pounds of shopping, daily necessities or groceries. A detachable shopper basket gives you more space for all your purchases. A single-pull harness, a huge recline and practical extras like the basket that you can remove for shopping means this is a highly versatile and family friendly stroller. It also comes with puncture-proof wheels so you won't have to worry about unexpected flat tubes during your adventures away from home.
5. Nipper Double V5
The Nipper Double V5 is a new model from Out 'n' About of the award-winning buggies that are all-terrain. It's designed for siblings or twins and has separate reclined seats, compatibility with carrycots and a light frame for hassle-free manoeuvring on uneven terrain.
The adjustable height handle and rear wheel suspension guarantee a comfortable ride for children up to 22kg, and the durable pneumatic tyres are easy to clean and provide a smooth ride for running. The 360-degree swivel wheel is able to be locked in place to make it easier to manoeuvre around town. The one-pedal easy lock brake is also simple to use.
Our testers discovered that the Nipper Double is incredibly easy to maneuver, even on uneven terrain or when turning in an area with a lot of traffic. The possibility that the seats could be reclined independently was hugely appreciated.
They also liked that the hoods were able to be moved forward and back, which made them easier to adjust to the sun or for wind protection. Our testers did find however that they didn't provide an enormous amount of coverage as similar to the Baby Jogger City Mini hoods, so it might be worth packing a rain cover just in case.

Overall, our test participants were impressed with the Nipper double's ability to allow them to take their twin daughters Sydney and Lyla to all kinds of adventures. From seeing wildlife in the forest to rushing to a park to play with their friends They loved it. Our testers were also amazed by how spacious and comfortable the two seats are. There's plenty of room for toddlers who are growing. Our testers did mention, however, that the lack of a parent-facing seating and the inability of using car seats with this buggy was a drawback and they would have liked to see more storage space for shopping and other equipment.
