Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The process of upgrading an item, often called "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade items increment boosts the stats linearly.

Players can recycle six items at once to gauge the upgraded component of each item. The cost of recycling an item varies with its rarity and level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade to an item is a method to increase the stats on your weapon and armor. Glyphs

If you do have an unusable rune or glyph that has not yet been applied to your gear, you can move it to another piece of gear by using the Upgrade Glyphs context menu in the Glyphs panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the chosen glyph.

If you want to remove a glyph from a piece of, you will need to save it using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. This will cause the item to be destroyed that it was installed in, but you can recover the upgraded item using the glyph and its shards therefore it should not be considered a loss.
