WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boost in specific statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item level upgrade by 3. A random extra substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees higher trade value as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variance (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as valuable for those with higher variance due to the need to roll the perfect version.

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be used on any weapon or tool with an The button will show the preview of an item's next level of upgrade, when there are enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the Item Level Upgrade and the current item level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers for example. The crests can later be exchanged at an upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.

Using these new currencies isn't too difficult, but the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade process. When a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade item for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This is to allow players to get their equipment to the highest level possible on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests wisely, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the Best item upgrader equipment you have and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to make. This is particularly relevant for items like trinkets and rings that take up several slots. The account-wide discount will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
