World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type, it may raise an item's Mark level or Rarity and boost additional stats.

The process of upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests Each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a specific amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its stats are increased in value. This value is the sum of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrading items can be expensive dependent on the upgrader and the type of upgrade you choose to do. This is due to the fact that many perks have to be replaced in order for the item to get upgraded.

It can also be used as a gating requirement when waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It is also used to limit how much PvP gear players can wear as PvP is restricted at lower levels. Players can view their average level of items on their character sheet.

When deciding whether to buy or sell gear players can look at the levels of the item. It's an excellent indicator of the quality of an item and how much damage it will be capable of causing. Comparing items in the inventory of a vendor can be done using the item's level.

On PC, you are able to check the level of the item by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the full item upgrade description, including its value. It can also be found by hovering an item with the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are a variety of theories on how the item level is calculated. One theory states that the Best item upgrader level is calculated using a formula that calculates the value of an item's stats actually are. It considers the fact that different perks have different worth and that sockets have gems that increase the item's overall value. This can result in an item's ilvl calculated, which is typically very close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.

However, this isn't the only factor that can affect an item's ilvl because the level of the area the item is dropped into can change the value of its stats, for example by adding a level to its haste or crit rating. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have higher ilvl.

Item Stats

Item stats are a big component of what determines the value of an item for players. The game utilizes them in various ways to encourage players to not limit themselves to one weapon and to motivate them to try out other weapons. The stat mods of weapons boost base stats. These stat mods are then boosted by a player's level.

Item upgrades add to that by boosting certain stats on the item. The rarity of an item determines the cost of upgrading. A white or grey item, for example, will only be upgraded one time and items that has rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times with higher prices.

Affixes are a different method to change an item's stats. They are stat boosters that can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can provide the item additional damage, add a special ability to the item (such as reviving dead or decreasing the duration of cooldowns) or make the item unique by putting an exclusive name to the item.

Currently, all affixes can be modified by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by the arrows that circle. It will cost a set amount of gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges just like the other rerolling methods.

In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can select which of the available stats they want to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However each item will include at least one stat in that range unless they are an exclusive item or a God Roll from a boss in a raid.

Another thing that could be changed is the possibility of upgrading equipment without having to reroll attachments, or pick which stats to enhance. But as with base equipment, this would need to be done on a per-item basis, and the interface for item comparison wouldn't show all possible stats that were gained or lost at the same time.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player boosts the probability of obtaining items and the properties that are created by loot and the intensity of these properties. It doesn't, however directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players an opportunity to get better gear earlier in the game. This is more advantageous in the early game, because players tend to put weapon scaling and defenses above raw damage gains.

Luck can also boost the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade item probability, which increases with each level and can be further increased by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor and weapons come with an initial Luck value of 40. These items can then be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant an additional +40 Luck, or to increase the luck of an item up to 140.

Certain items, such as the weapon with Hollow-infused components can also be crafted to increase the damage dealt by any skill that causes damage by 5%. These items can be purchased in the shop, or they can be made using the correct ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items are expensive and not all upgrades will succeed. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to increase their chances of success or even prevent them from losing an item if the upgrade fails.

The success rate of an upgrade item is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special Materials. The chance of success can only be increased by so much, and the likelihood that the upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..

The luck of an item upgrade may affect the effectiveness of an upgrade. All items have an initial success rate of 25%, and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the items in the inventory, so enchantment glint and other effects may be obscured by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
