The i3+ EVO, unlike some of the other robot vacuums that we tested has a self cleaning vacuum cleaner emptying bin that automatically disposes of debris into an external dirt compartment on its charging base once it's full. This reduces hands-on maintenance and helps keep the i3+ EVO from overfilling, however it still needs to be manually cleaned after each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO's built-in dustbin holds 2.4L of debris and is more than enough to get it through four or five cleaning sessions before you have to replace it.

Similar to the i7, this model uses state-of-the-art floor tracking sensors to create maps and navigate neat rows. However the i3+ EVO only stores one map, whereas the i7 is able to store multiple maps. The map of the i7 can be used to create virtual barriers and no-go zones, but not the i3+ EVO.

Although the i3+ EVO is superior at picking up surface debris than some of the other robovacs we reviewed but it's not the best when it comes to cleaning edges and corners. It's also not as gentle on furniture, despite being fairly quiet. It pulled chairs away from walls and caused some collisions with the sides of our test bed, and it was stuck to cords and toys while testing.

2. Black & Decker Pro Q5

If you're looking to increase your robot vacuum collection or are just starting out with the Q5 Pro is a great choice. This is the first robot we've seen with 3D mapping. This, along with other advancements, allows it to perform exceptionally well in our mopping and vacuuming tests. It allows you to schedule cleaning times, set no-go zones and see the battery's condition among other things. The app is simple to use, but it isn't compatible with Apple HomeKit.
