1. Roomba j7+ iRobot from iRobot.

The Roomba J7+, IRobot's most advanced robot to date is the Roomba J7+. Its biggest innovation, however, is its camera-based obstacle-detection system. This uses AI to identify objects such as charging cords and shoes. It's the first robot to provide you with pictures of the objects that it encounters, meaning you can instruct the robot to stay clear of it.

The Combo J7+ is the most efficient robot mop that we have ever tested. It picks up dirt and spills easily leaving no trace it was there. It's simple to control via the iRobot Home app, which allows you to schedule cleaning and create Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't sweep areas you don't want it to. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can turn it on and off by speaking to it.

In our tests, the j7+ was quick to clean up dust dirt, pet hair and even pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes held the debris in place instead of scattering it on the floor. The j7+, though not as intelligent as the Roomba S9 for $1,217+ Self-Emptying Vacuum from iRobot, and cannot clean the stairs, is still an excellent choice for those who require both mopping and vacuum. It's not costly and the iRobot App makes it simple to use.

While the iRobot Home app is very easy to use, we've found it to be less reliable than other applications that use robotic vacuums cleaners. It can take a long time to download updates, and often it's difficult to know if the update is actually working until you see it in the action.

2. Roborock Q5+

When you're looking for an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean floors, your best robot vacuum for large house choice is probably a hybrid. These robots come with a water tank so they can vacuum and mop at the same time. They also come with a variety of extra features such as smart mapping, small object avoidance, and the ability to wash and re-dry mopping pads. The downside is that they tend to be expensive when purchased at full retail, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they are often reduced in price.

Roborock makes some of our favorite robot cleaner commercial vacuums, and the Q5+ is no exception. This is the least expensive model in their auto-empty line. While it may not come with some of the expensive features (like no-go zones and multi-story memories), it's still an excellent choice for those who are willing to make a few compromises to save a few bucks.

The Q5+ is exceptionally gentle when it comes down to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it a great choice for homes that have a lot of furniture. It's also extremely thorough when it comes to getting rid of dust bunnies which is an area where many cheaper robot vacuums often fall short. The technology used to navigate in the Q5+ is excellent and has very few missed corners and along walls.

Like other Roborock devices like the Q5+, the Q5+ can be controlled by a handful of buttons on the device itself or through the Roborock app. Through the app, you can begin and stop cleanings, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones, and modify your home map or re-label rooms.

If you choose the Q5+ model, it comes with a brand new auto emptying dock that is designed to make this robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver but once in place, emptying the bin is done easily. It has a large LCD screen, which is useful in setting up schedules and adjusting settings. This feature isn't required for the majority of people, but it can help you effectively keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's astonishingly smart in both its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design is one of the top in the market however, it's costly.

Its base station looks good and is easily hidden when not in use, and the size is quite compact. The main reason to buy the station is that it automates many tasks, chores and functions that other robots leave to you. It can keep clean and dirty water and also electrolyze and warm the water. The majority of other robots require you to do this.

Its vacuuming capabilities are also impressive. It's the only robovac that I've used that has done an excellent job of removing debris from bare floors. And it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.

The Freo X Ultra is not without flaws, especially when it comes to navigation. Its laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as some other robovacs, meaning it can get stuck or confused in certain rooms or corners of your home. It's also unable to climb stairs as well as other competitors and doesn't come with a docking station to create a clean zone for carpets that are soft.

While it doesn't offer as many in terms of cleaning configuration options in its app, or as many shortcuts in the app as other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for anyone seeking a great all-round mop and robot vacuum that's worth the premium price price.

If you're looking to save money or aren't concerned about the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of other options on the market. Many of the eufy models cost significantly less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for instance, is cheaper and has more features, including stair climbing and a full-function Dock, that provides a better overall vacuuming experience on floors that are unfinished, low-pile carpets, and even high-pile ones.

4. eufy RoboVac G30

eufy is an Anker company with a history of producing robot vacuums that offer the perfect balance of performance, features, and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different it offers a high-quality cleaning of hard floors and mopping, carpets and other surfaces at a price that is affordable. It's simple to set up, simply snap on one of the side brushes and then turn it on. Then connect your charging dock. The app walks you through a few steps to connect it to Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. You'll need to place the dock near a power outlet and enough space to allow it to move however.

The G30 is a small device that measures 2.85 inches in height, which means it is able to be tucked away under couches and low-clearance pieces of furniture. The design is more modest than other models, sporting sleek black finishes and three physical buttons that control Auto Cleaning, which can be paused or started. Recharge and Spot Cleaning (which scrubs a space in an arc for two minutes). You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.

The way in which the G30 cleans is what separates it from its competitors. It makes use of a built-in map to create an image of immovable objects it encounters, remembering what it's already cleaned and what it isn't able to access. When it's time to recharge, it automatically returns to its starting point and begins cleaning where it started.

The eufy G30 has a few issues. The iRobot Roomba 675 is more built, incurs lower recurring expenses, charges faster and offers similar battery life, while providing better performance on bare floors and carpets with a low pile. It also comes with a larger dust bin that doesn't need to be emptied as frequently and comes with a set of boundaries to ensure it isn't in certain areas. The G30 is less expensive and easier to maintain. Its smaller dust canister doesn't require as frequent emptying and it struggles less with bulky material like cereal.
