Greenpower Mobility - All-Energy Medium and Heavy-Duty Vehicles

Greenpower designs, manufactures and distributes an entire range of heavy- and medium-duty electric vehicles. This includes transit buses as well as school buses, as well as cargo buses and shuttles.
EV Star is a zero-emission vehicle that offers a lot of customization. It's also fully FTA certified and Buy America compliant. It has a class-leading range and ADA wheelchair-friendly features. It also offers cargo delivery configurations.
EV Star
GreenPower Motor Company manufactures a complete line of heavy and
electric mobility scooter Fastest medium-duty electric vehicles, including models with lower and high floors. Their flagship vehicle is the EV Star Cab & Chassis platform, which is able to accommodate a variety of bodies and upfits for a variety of applications. The platform's design philosophy of clean sheets allows for optimal battery pack placement and lower center of gravity, resulting in better payload-to-range ratios.
The EV Star REEFERX was developed for mid-to-last mile refrigerated deliveries as well as catering applications. The class 4 refrigerated trucks with a single wall structure inside, and higher insulation than conventional trucks, allows for seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer lifespan. The EV Star REEFERX offers superior cargo capacity, and an industry-leading payload to reach the range of zero-emission transport of passengers or goods.
GreenPower partnered with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems. This will allow fleets to make the transition to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star will also be capable of wireless charging up to 75 kW.
We were allowed to test drive the EV9 on the local highway for a few hours and found it to be easy to drive, and comfortable to drive for long distances. The EV9 can block the sound of traffic and wind driving along the highway. It rides smoothly over ruts and humps. The acceleration of the vehicle is astonishingly quick, and it features adjustable regenerative brakes that allow "one-pedal driving" simply by lifting off the accelerator.
The EV9 has a wide range and can be recharged within three hours or less at home, or by using any commercial charger. The driver can select from two operating modes - eco mode and sport mode. Eco mode is a great way to increase the
green power as well as cruise control and handling while sport mode maximizes speed. Both modes are enjoyable to drive and offer an experience unlike any other for those who haven't experienced driving an
electric scooter green vehicle before.
In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other e-vehicles available, such as a multi-purpose, all-electric mini bus called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA compliant and can be utilized as an executive shuttle, micro-transit or transit bus, vanpool, or paratransit vehicle.
GreenPower produces about 10 EV Star busses a month for Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their older diesel vehicles fleet with 100 electric cars. With the Biden Administration looking to electrify school buses across the country, GreenPower plans on ramping up production to meet demand. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS-certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA conforming. This means that they are eligible for federal transit assistance grants. Check back when we follow the AV Star on its tour of demonstration later in the year. We will be sure to give more details about this innovative EV!
