1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO is a great robot vacuum that comes with a range of innovative features that make it more easy to maintain than other models. Its automatic bin emptying is among the most useful features we've seen in the form of a robot and it is compatible with hard floors as well as carpets. It's also easy to install and use and the app will guide you step-by-step through the process. Its ability to resume the same place it left off during our tests is an additional impressive feature. It did this for 77 minutes in one cleaning before the battery was exhausted.

Contrary to other robovacs we tested, the i3+ EVO has self-emptying bins that dump debris into an external dirt compartment on the base of its charging when it's full. The i3+ EVO can be kept from overfilling by a self-emptying bin. However it must be emptied manually at the end of each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO dustbin can hold 2.4L, which will last for four to five cleaning sessions.

Similar to the i7, this model uses state-of-the-art floor tracking sensors to create maps and navigate in neat rows. However, the i3+ EVO only stores one map, whereas the i7 has the capacity to store multiple maps. The i7 can also utilize its map to create no-go zones as well as virtual barriers, but the i3+ EVO cannot.

While the i3+ EVO is more effective in removing debris on surfaces than the other robovacs we looked at however, it's not the most effective for cleaning edges and corners. It's also more abrasive on furniture, despite being remarkably quiet. It was quite rough on furniture as it pushed chairs away. It also made some collisions against the sides of the bed.

The Q5 Pro is an excellent choice, whether you are expanding your robot vacuum collection or just starting out. The Q5 Pro's 240-minute running time is also generous when contrasted with other 2-in-1 robots we tested. When the battery is running low, it returns automatically to its dock where it recharges and resumes cleaning where it was when it stopped. You can control the Q5 Pro using the app or voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

This is the first robot we've seen that has 3D mapping. This along with other advancements has helped it perform exceptionally well in our vacuuming tests and mopping tests. It allows you to plan cleaning schedules, create no-go zones, and view the battery's condition, among other things. The app is easy to use, even though it doesn't support Apple HomeKit; that feature is scheduled to be added in 2025. As of early November, Apple has updated a footnote on its website to note that this feature is delayed until 2025. Some other robots won't work with HomeKit, but many of them work with Siri Shortcuts.

The iMop was a winner in our navigation efficiency and coverage evaluations and was also adept at eliminating obstacles, like furniture. It is also able to find its way to the base station in case it is unable to recharge its batteries during an exercise of cleaning.
