Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum is able to keep the floors clean enough to cut down on the frequency at which you'll need to manually vacuum. Choose a robot vacuum with good navigation, is able to clean corners and stairs and has large bins that will need to be emptying every so often.
You can also find models that clean and charge themselves which can be beneficial for those with children or pets. Many of the top performers in our tests also have decent obstacle avoidance.
1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling the i3 EVO are both identical robots, but they differ in that the i3+ has self-emptying features. That makes the i3+ an excellent choice for people who want an automated, hands-free cleaning experience but don't mind manually emptying their robot's dustbin when it is full.
Both robots do well cleaning up surface debris from hard floors and carpets, and they are very good at getting around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates intelligent maps of your home, which help the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. However, unlike the i7+ or other top rated robots we tested, the i3+ doesn't have a feature for avoiding obstacles, so it may get stuck on things such as socks or power cords, and may have issues navigating across surface transitions like hardwood to rug.
iRobot recommends you clear out areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, and include clearing out any toys or clutter it might encounter. It's also an excellent idea to keep the bin and filter clear so they do not become blocked by dirt. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or its battery is empty it will return to its docking station, automatically emptying its dirt into the station's dust bin, and then continues cleaning where it left off. Battery life is about an hour and a half of constant usage. It takes three hours to fully charge.
2. Roomba from iRobot
The iRobot i7+ is an excellent model from iRobot's flagship line and is packed with the latest features. It's self-charging, self-navigating, and -- the most important feature of all -- it has self-emptying bins that eliminate one of the main sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba i7+ can remember up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, which lets it map rooms so it can clean them more efficiently. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and control your robot using voice or via the app.
The i7+ is quicker and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from all surfaces, including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin, which eliminates major sources of maintenance and reduces recurring cost.
We were also amazed by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning sessions, move itself around the room and vacuum a specific space. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. When connected, we were able to give the i7+ voice commands such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options for managing the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is a sports car in a sea of cordless vacuums that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in most homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase.
The V10 is powered by a seven-cell, high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide continuous, non-fading power for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system is able to trap allergens and then releases cleaner air into your home. The specially designed head utilizes stiff nylon bristles to drive deep into carpets, and then pick up large crumbs or fine dust. It comes with three suction settings to suit the task that is being completed. It swiftly switches from floor vac to handheld vacuum, and then back to
automatic floor vacuum.
The model also comes with an accessory dock that can charge to 100% in 3.5 hours and offers an easy access to two attachments and an wand clip. This is a significant improvement over earlier Dysons which require a long charge and are difficult to store.
The V10's biggest drawback is its sluggish run time. As CR's tests show, its claims to run up to 60 minutes are not true. This is a standard, not exceptional, battery-powered vacuum's run time. This is enough time to sweep the average-sized home, but not enough to reach every spot. (A second pass is usually sufficient). That's not to say this model isn't a good choice It's lighter and more mobile than the older cordless Dysons, and its vacuuming efficiency is better on low-pile carpet.
4. iRobot Roomba 694
One of iRobot's most adored robot vacuums The 694 is an affordable model that's an excellent option for those who don't wish to spend too much money on a robot. It could pick up all kinds of debris and sizes in our tests, and frequently went over the same area many times to ensure a thorough clean. The flat front of the unit allows it to reach into corners and along the edges of walls, which is a nice addition.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt technology to steer clear of obstacles and guide you through your home. It's not equipped with the ability to map that is found in more advanced models, such as our top picks, i3+EVO and the j7+ Series. As a result, it is sometimes stuck on things like phone cords and low furniture, and it often will run out of battery before making it back to its base.
The Xiaomi Mi
robot vacuum Cleaner industrial is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694, as it has less parts that require regular cleaning, is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, incurs lower recurring cost, is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and is better able to navigate itself. It also has a larger dustbin and is charged faster.
The eufy RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for a variety of purposes, because it has a longer battery life, can change its suction power mode on its own and comes with physical boundary strips, and is operated by your phone's voice assistant. It is also more durable, has a stronger motor, and is more effective on low-pile and bare floors.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a brand you see on all sorts of electronic gadgets for your home, so it comes as no surprise that they're one of the most popular robotic
vacuum deals and mop makers. Jet Bot AI+ has the most advanced onboard technology for navigation and obstacle avoidance.
The app provides plenty of options to customize your robotic cleaner, such as virtual barriers mopping water levels, behavior customization docking frequency settings and more. The app is simple to navigate and use, just like other Samsung devices.

In our tests of the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors, and also handled dog hair (on carpet) very well, picking up 86% of it. It did not do well in avoiding taller objects like socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also a bit more expensive than the other models we tested, which might be a deterrent for some buyers.

The app allows you to access the onboard camera of the smart vacuum. You can also set up live streaming from the robot's area of cleaning. This feature lets you to monitor your children or pets when you're away. The filter and the dust bin are washable for quick, easy cleanup. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with an
automatic vacuum cleaners clean station which helps keep the robot's bin clear and maximizes suction power.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
In contrast to other robotic vacuums that are made for carpets and hard floors, Black and Decker robots are specifically designed for hard floors. The robots come with an extra-wide cleaning path, as well as dust bins that are 2X larger than the competition. This allows them to keep the area clean for longer. Plus, they include two side sweepers to clean around edges and corners. The POWERSERIES Extreme model comes with AutoSense technology, which detects whether it's picking up surface litter or embedded dirt and automatically adjusts its power level. It also includes a smart application that lets you see the virtual map and control the functions and schedules. You can also monitor the status of the vacuum and then send it to its dock for charging at the press of a single button. The app lets you alter the LED lights on the top of the vacuum to discern where it is focusing or if it has gotten stuck.
The app also makes it simple to steer the robot manually should you need to. For instance, my living room rug has a darkly-colored border that can trip up some of the other robots I've tested. However, the HRV 425BL kept moving across the border, but it didn't register it as an incline. The ability to set up the weekly cleaning schedule is a wonderful time-saving benefit.
