Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum will keep floors clean enough to reduce the frequency at which you'll need to manually vacuum. Choose one that has excellent navigation, is able to clean stairs and corners, and has a large dust bin that has to be emptied only once in a while.
There are also models that mop and charge on their own This feature could be essential for those who have pets or kids. The top performers in our tests also have decent obstacle avoidance.
1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. This makes the i3+ an excellent option for those looking for an automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but don't mind having to empty their dust bin manually when it fills up.
Both robots do well cleaning up surface debris from hard floors and carpets, and they're excellent at maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart maps of your home that aid the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a way that maximizes efficiency. However, unlike the i7+ or other top rated robots we tested, the i3+ doesn't have a feature for avoiding obstacles, so it may get stuck on things such as socks or power cords, and it may have trouble traversing transitions across surfaces, such as from hardwood to rug.
iRobot recommends you clear out areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, including clearing out any toys or clutter it may encounter. It is also recommended to keep the filters and dust bin free of dirt to prevent them from getting blocked. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station, and it automatically empties the dirt into the station's dust bin. It then continues cleaning from where it left off. Battery life is about an hour and a half of constant use. It takes 3 hours to charge.
2. IRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line, and it comes with the most recent features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. -- the most important feature of all -- it has a self-emptying dustbin that eliminates one of the most important sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba I7+ can map rooms more efficiently with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and direct your robot by voice or through the app.
In our testing the i7+ was quicker and more maneuverable than our second-placed model, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surfaces kinds including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy it self-empties its dust bin, which eliminates a major cause of maintenance and reduces the amount of time spent cleaning.
We were also awestruck by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning routines and to move around the room and sweep an area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. Once connected we were able to use the i7+'s voice commands such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and monitoring the performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world of vacuums that are cordless and feel like minivans or buses, this small Dyson model is an old-fashioned sports car. It's got the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in most households, but it also fits nicely on a coffee table or on the bookshelf, that you can spin around like the magic wand.
The V10 is powered by a seven-cell, high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide fade-free power for 60 minutes. Its sophisticated whole-machine filtration system removes allergens, and then releases clean air back into your home. Its specialized
Cleaning Robots For Home head drives bristles made of nylon that are stiff into carpets to trap large particles and fine dust. It comes with three suction settings to match the task at hand. It is able to quickly change between handheld and floor vacuum, and vice versa.

The model also comes with a dock that charges to 100% in around 3.5 hours, and gives users an easy access to two attachments and the wand clip. This is a huge improvement over older Dysons which require a long charge and are difficult to store.
The main issue with the V10 is its limited running time. The claims of its marketing that it has up to 60 minutes of running time are misleading as CR's tests show. This is a typical, not an exceptional, time for an electric cordless vacuum powered by batteries. This is enough time to sweep the average-sized home but not enough to reach every spot. (A second run usually works). This model has its own advantages, however: it's lighter and more maneuverable than earlier Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is significantly better on carpets with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
The 694 is a basic robotic vacuum that's a great option for those who don't have a lot of money to spend on an expensive robot. It could pick up the majority of types of debris and sizes in our tests and would often go over the same area many times for a thorough clean. The flat front of the unit allows it to reach into corners and along the edges of walls, which is a nice touch.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate your home, but it lacks the mapping capabilities of more sophisticated models like our top picks, the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. Because of this, it can sometimes get stuck on things like phone cords or furniture that isn't in good condition, and frequently runs out of battery power before returning to its base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694 because it has fewer components that require regular cleaning, is outfitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, incurs lower recurring cost and is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and can better move itself. It also has a larger dustbin, and charges more quickly.
The eufy RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 in most purposes, because it has a better battery life, has the ability to alter its suction power mode on its own and has physical boundary strips, and can be operated by your phone's voice assistant. It also feels better-built and has a more powerful motor, and performs notably better on both bare floors and carpets with low pile, while offering a wider range of automation features.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a household name in home electronics. It's not a surprise that they are also among the top producers of robot vacuums and mop. Their Jet
bot cleaner AI+ is equipped with cutting-edge onboard tech for navigation and obstacles avoidance.
The app provides a range of customization options for your robotic cleaner. These include mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior modifications, docking frequency settings and many more. The app is simple to navigate and use, just like other Samsung devices.
In our tests of the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and handled dog hair (on carpet) very well, picking up 86 percent of it. However, it wasn't particularly well with larger objects, like cords and socks which was a disappointment. It's also a bit more expensive than some of the other models we tried and could be a deal-breaker for some shoppers.
The
smart vacuum has an onboard camera that is accessible via the app. You can also set up a live streaming from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to keep track of your pets or children when you're away from home. The filter and the dust bin can be washed for quick, easy cleanup. The Jet Bot AI+ also comes with a clean and tidy station that's self-emptying and helps keep the robot's trash bin clean and optimizes suction power for each cleaning.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
Unlike other
robotic vacuum cleaner deals vacuums, that are made for carpets and hard floors, Black and Decker robots are specifically designed for hard floors. They feature an extra-wide cleaning path and an extra-large dustbin that holds twice as much debris than the competition to keep the cleaning area free of debris for the longest period of time. They also come with two side sweepers for cleaning around corners and edges. The POWERSERIES model comes with AutoSense, which automatically adjusts the power level depending on whether it's picking up dirt that is on the surface or embedded. The vacuum also comes with an app that allows you to view a virtual map, control functions, and create schedules. You can also track the status of the vacuum and connect it to the dock for charging with the touch of a single button. The app lets you modify the LEDs on the top of the vacuum to discern where it is focusing or if it's stuck.
The app makes it possible to steer the robot manually in the event of need. My living room rug, for example has a dark-colored border that can trip up some other robots. However the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border without registering it as a cliff. And the ability to set up weekly cleaning schedules is a fantastic time-saving feature.
