The mops also have a smart system to clean around the edges of walls and around furniture. The robot can easily avoid obstacles like food bowls, toys, and backpacks. However, it could get stuck or get caught up in smaller and less hefty objects like shoelaces, USB cables, and pen.

The Scout RX3 impressed us in our test on how well it was able to clean baking powder around corners and baseboards. Its suction of 2,500Pa was weaker than other robots, but it was still quiet and moved quickly. It didn't mop, however and its cleaning pads were difficult to attach and could not deal with dirt that had dried on.

The app is on the basic side with no advanced features such as multiple cleaning modes and automated scheduling. It supports Alexa however its voice commands don't seem to be very clear or responsive. And it's also a little unreliable when it comes navigating its way back to the charging station after running -- other robots can follow a previous route or follow a wall around until they reach their home however, the RX3 simply bumbles around until it quits and then sends a message about failure to your phone.

We also had issues with the smart features of the device, such as its mapping feature and digital stay-out zones. While it did a good job of keeping away from our shoes and furniture legs, it got easily stuck by cables and socks, and couldn't handle the tassels that adorn rug. That's the reason we didn't choose to include it on our Best Buy list. The Scout RX3 offers a good price and a dazzling performance. It's worth a look as an alternative to uprights that are traditionally used.
