It's also the only robot vacuum or mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is due to a mix of high-tech sensors including a structured lighting system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

As with other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, offering a simple mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This can be a concern in the mornings prior to work or during the night when you are trying to fall asleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, though it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally capable and more attractive. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that's very capable however, it's more expensive and produce more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with many advanced features that will let you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine that is similar to Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically emptys the vacuum's bin, refills the water tank, as well as washes and drys the mop pads.

It's also self-sufficient with a fully-featured app, and a self-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through an initial mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules, or to set up the spot-cleaning. It can also be used to it to rank your most filthy areas to improve performance. The app offers a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It can also reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It has an impressive 8,000 Pascal suction and sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also organize a spot-cleaner which will thoroughly clean a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and more affordable alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana.
