For instance, you can decide to let the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the kitchen and living rooms but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation tech are excellent too, with the robot being able to detect tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. The only problem is that it is known to smash into objects and walls at full speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning on the app will tell you exactly what the robot has accomplished, where it's traveling, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

A handy LCD screen on the docking station shows the maintenance tasks that must be completed, such as emptying the debris tray, and washing the water tank that is dirty. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank, by using a 600ml bottle filled with the eufy's solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop can operate for 184 mins in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can run for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive and lets you look at all the details of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot mop and vacuum, is the most up-to-date version. The model of this year features a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This improves the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to remove small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaner and mop cleaners could be unable to pick up.

The Roborock model, like the other two I tried it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it overcome obstacles like walls, furniture, and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and decide whether they're a wall or another type of surface. It then can alter its course automatically and clean the objects, without missing a step.

It's the most expensive model I've tested however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek angular design is eye catching and comes with three physical buttons. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning process mop button, which doubles up as a child-lock and a home-button that can bring the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin automatically refills.

The only downside I found with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. You can change the mopping cloth if required, but it's not easy to take the mount off for manual washing. I've observed that any carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mount, which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app allows you to manage and set up these smart features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's lifespan. You'll need to jump through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40
