WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades can give you an increase in certain stats. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.
The upgraded gear typically has a greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll to get a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The
Best item upgrade used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.
The upgrader is located in all major cities and is accessible anytime to upgrade your gear. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.
Upgrades will cost more depending on the item level, but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar
item level upgrade from another player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from item upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. button, which will show an image of the item at the next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.
The cost of upgrading is based on the item slot and the current item level and the weapon's price is higher than bracers or gloves, for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.
item upgrader kit upgraders can be found in many places on the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases according to the number of items that are being upgraded. It can also be increased by requiring players to complete specific achievements or complete quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an
item upgrader mod upgrader at beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only available through a variety means. This is both a benefit and a drawback.
In Season 3, the upgrade system was tweaked a bit, with several new features added. Once a player has upgraded to a certain item level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This applies even if the items come from a different set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is available across all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievements.
Crests
Players have several options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a crucial component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.
The first thing to remember is that crests are only able to be used to purchase equipment of a particular rank, and every rank has different requirements for upgrading. The simplest and simplest upgrade route costs 15 crests while the more complex one may require as many as 20 crests depending on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through finishing tasks at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in all difficulty levels to obtain lower-level gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons that have a high difficulty for endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.
The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it does bring some changes to the upgrade process. When a piece has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.
Another notable modification is that crests have one use and it's crucial to use them wisely. For instance it's a good idea to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment you have, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you plan to make. This is particularly applicable to trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to take advantage of the account-wide discount if all of the slots are full of high-quality equipment.
