World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and PvE Damage.
If the weapon's upgrade template is in %, the weapon will be able to gain 3percent of its previous attack damage every time it's upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item's level increases.
Components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armor and trinkets in order to provide them with a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. These can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot for them. The item must be at least upgraded to the blue level in order for the component to be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied once. They cannot be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and Enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade may include a suffix or prefix, modifying the name of the equipment to which it is applied (for examplethe "Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of the equipment with the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than would be required to reach the same level of
upgrade item using normal methods.
A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defence attributes of the weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them from the cash shop or getting them from enemies while upgrading other equipment.
Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of an item will be dropped during the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear even when they're not sure what can be improved upon an update.
The process of upgrading an item could be costly and it is likely that the item will be obsolete, or even break, if the
upgrade items fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items to increase or even eliminate the chance of failure, and some upgrades that offer a bonus when reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, including any existing affixes. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as possible up to 15 levels.
In the final game you'll often discover that the most effective way to upgrade your gear is by placing Glyphs. These are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded up to level 15 and give significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced but Glyphs are the only
upgrade item component that can be removed and replaced without restriction. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph of the same rank, or a higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the glyph.
There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you will require them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that boosts the stats of a specific set of nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.
Glyphs boost all nodes that are connected to them, therefore it is recommended to place Glyphs in the most important locations on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids, for instance should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.
Leveling
The upgrade system for items allows players to improve the effectiveness of specific items by putting upgraded components inside them. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned an amount that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum of 385. Each item level requires a different number of components and the cost of upgrading increase as the item gets advanced in level.
Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or bought from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level the item, and when enough points have been earned, the upgrade can be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When the player upgrades an item it is replaced with a new item of the same type. This means that the same armor piece will get the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item will come with a bonus of its own. This could be a drawback in that it could make the item more expensive, even if you don't need it.
If the player has enough tokens they can roll item upgrades. The item will be replaced by a brand new one that is based on a level 1 base and completely different bonuses. This can be useful however it shouldn't be done often as it can be a waste of resources.
Certain upgrades can be rerolled many times, increasing their value and allows the player to modify their gear. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or swims like a dolphin). This item can be upgraded multiple times and increases the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item can be very valuable in PvP, as the best version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its non-upp'd value.
Requirements
The upgrade of items allows players to upgrade the level of their available gear--armor, weapons and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also improve the strength of their base defense and weapon upgrades items increase the damage they deal as well as their strength and dexterity.
All items can be upgraded up to five times except for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an item it has the chance to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you go over the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures will cause the item to go to its initial condition, which requires the user to spend more materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.
If an item is not able to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally the item will be deducted any bonus it earned such as crit chance and attack damage, and all additional effects associated with the effect (for example, increased heal over time or reload speed). However, the user can continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit it will be applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the item definition and the value is computed each time an upgrade is applied.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined by its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to the value of the base
item upgrader mod. For example an item of common use could have five upgrades at a cost of. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero quality items have lower costs per upgrade.
Premium items have different requirements for upgrading in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they might require fewer sowels but more minerals and erons. Players will still have to bring every piece of equipment they want to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each upgrade requires the use of different upgrade ingredients.
