WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item level upgrade by 3. Each upgrade also boosts a random substat.

The upgraded gear is usually more useful, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for the latter because of the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used to upgrade will be consumed forever and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each several weeks.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the item level, but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that are used to improve the quality of weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They can be purchased through NPCs who sell upgrades to item upgrade owners in a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor with the help of The button will show the item's next level of upgrade, if there are enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the item slot and current item level and the weapon's price is higher than bracers or gloves, for instance. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item level upgrade has been upgraded to a certain level it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Item upgraders can be found at many locations on the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest ilvl possible for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests in a wise manner, as they only have one use. For instance, it's best to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the Best item upgrader equipment you have, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan to make. This is especially true for items like rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character that will be able to avail the account-wide discount if all slots are full of high-quality equipment.
