A
Small Double Buggy That's Easy to Push One-Handed and Carry Up and Down Stairs

If you're looking to purchase a light
double single pushchair stroller double that you can push with one hand, and then carry up and down steps This is the perfect model.
It has two fixed seats and can be configured with the possibility of up to 30 seating configurations (including three!). Both seats have UPF 50+ canopies and windows that peek out.
Size
The Joovy Kooper X2 is a double stroller that is side-by-side and can hold two children at up to 50lbs each. Its seats are more generously bigger than those of other strollers with lightweight designs and the canopy has large SPF 50 sunshades that have windows that peek out. Other key features include cup holders for one parent and an enormous, self-standing basket that can hold up to 25 lbs; swing-away bars for children to climb out and in their seats and the front wheels that swivel lock to make it easier to maneuver on difficult terrain. This is a great choice for urban and suburban families. It also comes with the double kit which includes a newborn wedgie for the best position to lie flat.
Weight
The weight of a double buggies will determine its ability to push. A light buggy is easier to lift and carry but might not have enough suspension to withstand bumps and uneven terrain.
Check the specifications of each model carefully before buying. Some double buggies come with the capacity to hold a maximum weight of a person and others have an overall frame limit. Some fold with the seats removed, making them lighter and more compact, which can be useful in cases where storage space is a premium.
Tri-fold doubles are usually the lightest of models, since they require only one hand to lift the top and lower sections. They are also smaller than buggies that are side by side and can fit through most doors. The iCandy Geo 3 tri-fold double is one of most lightweight on the market. It is able to comfortably accommodate twins or a toddler and baby.
Tandem buggies are perfect for families with growing children since they begin as a single stroller but can be adapted to accommodate a second seat such as a car seat or carrycot. Some, like the iCandy Orange, offer over 30 seating options, so they can grow with your family to accommodate the age of a third child. They are generally heavier than tri-fold doubles. However, they're usually easier to move up and down kerbs thanks to the weight being more evenly distributed.
Folding
The best double buggies designed for small children can fold up in just a few minutes. Our Lab experts love this feature because it lets them to fit the buggies into the back of their vehicles and save storage space when they are not in use. The Joovy Kooper X2 for example includes straps that can be pulled up on the seats and the entire thing folds down. Even our oldest testers were able to do this tri-fold in just one hand.
The light Delta Children LX Side by Side is a good alternative for a compact double buggie. Its light weight is a plus, but its main features are such as large pop-out canopies that have SPF 50 and peekaboo windows, swing-away bars that help children climb in and out of the seats; and reclining seats and leg rests for younger kids.
Manoeuvrability
When selecting a compact double stroller, it is important to consider its maneuverability. This includes the ease for both children to be able to ride in the buggy. Certain pushchairs are better than others in this regard and include the iCandy's "cinema chair" (where the back is elevated).
This is where narrow tandem buggies and side-by-side designs come in useful. However, they are slightly longer overall and can be difficult to navigate through doors.
The UPPAbaby Vista 2 is an excellent example of this, as it's a relatively compact pushchair that allows two seats to be added as well as - importantly - a 'piggyback' board that can accommodate an additional child.
Other smaller, three-wheeled models like the phil&teds dot extremely agile, particularly thanks to its clever 'dot kit' that turns into an inline buggy. This has a couple of different seating configurations for kids with different ages. It even allows the front seat to be turned to face parents for ultimate face-to-face bonding time. It has an ample storage basket and is easy to fold. This is a great option for growing families.
Comfort
With narrow tandem strollers or versatile buggies that can be used side-by-side, parents can watch both kids at the park, at the grocery store or wherever else. These lightweight doubles are able to hold two children, with a maximum weight of 50 pounds each. They also have a pop-out canopy that can be extended enough to give shade. They also have convenient cup holders that can be reversible and placed on the seatback. They also have one cup holder for parents, plus a large underseat basket.

If you're starting out with an expanding family, consider adding the double kit from phil&teds to your dot buggy to transform it into an inline
double umbrella stroller, ideal for toddlers and newborns alike. The innovative 3-wheel design allows for easy kerb popping and superior maneuverability, and the sling seat offers an excellent opportunity for infants to bond with their parents. If your kids become older just swap the sling for an infant car seat adapter and you're ready to go. You're ready for your next adventure with a deluxe travel bag and rain cover included!
